Academic Compact Environment For Focus Students
Students with focus often thrive in a more intensive environment. Other students are discouraged by stress associated with focusing intensively on academic work. CCCHS will offer an Academic Mentoring Component for students who wish to focus more on the academics & are willing to give up some privileges to foster such an environment. Students in a Focus Homeroom will be self-contained for part of the school day & take at least AMC/homeroom, English, Spanish, and Social Studies together.

To be a student in a Focus Homeroom, one must give 100% just like what is expected of all successful athletic teams. What does it mean to give 100%

- Be present 100% of the time
- Be one time 100% of the time
- Do 100% of the required class work
- Do 100% of the homework
- Take 100% of test & quizzes
- Read an extra book each quarter
- Stay one night a week after school as scheduled by teachers
- Sign the Academic Compact

Students who miss any of the above will be given an opportunity to make-up every absence, tardiness, assignment or requirement in a specified amount of time. The homeroom period will be study time and not a casual or social time. The out of class (to nurse, counselor, administrator, bathroom, etc.) must also be made up.
