Ms. Ratley is beginning her fifth year as an educator at Career Connections Charter High School. At Career Connections she serves as the Career Department Chair, assisting in the implementation of Career classes for the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Prior to coming to Career Connections, Ms. Ratley was the Director of Programs for the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), Pittsburgh Division. While at NFTE she achieved trained over 300 teachers throughout PA in youth entrepreneurship while serving as a board member for the Western School of Health and Business. Ms. Ratley graduated from David B. Oliver High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Her studies in Education were conducted at Carlow University. Currently, she is pursuing a Masters of Science in Professional Counseling.

Thomas Barnes

Mr. Barnes is in his twelfth year of teaching (beginning his fifth year at CCCHS). A graduate from Slippery Rock University in 1998, Mr. Barnes has taught at Summit Academy, Lyman Ward Military Academy (Alabama) and here at CCCHS. Mr. Barnes has taught several different courses at CCCHS and is a member of the Careers and Social Studeis teams. In addition to Careers and Social Studies courses, Mr. Barnes teaches the Leadership Opportunity Lab (or LOL for short). In addition to teaching, Mr. Barnes is a part of several clubs and activities. Along with Ms. Ebaugh, he is a co-facilitator of the TwoGether Pittsburgh ECHO Program (ECHO stands for Expressing Change through Healthy Outcomes), a program that helps students make better choices in their lives. He is also the coordinator of the Leadership program sponsored by Clarion University’s Leadership Academy. The Academy is a twice-a-year, three-day field trip where students go to Clarion University to learn leadership skills and see what college life is like. Mr. Barnes has also been the sponsor of the DJ Club at CCCHS. In addition, he was a member of the Wellness Committee and a photographer for the yearbook. |
